Joe Ordóñez is an award-winning photographer based in Haines, Alaska. Joe works a photographer, naturalist, guide and is owner of Rainbow Glacier Adventures, in Haines, Alaska. Joe, his wife Edie and daughter Stella live in a semi-remote cabin accessible only by foot or boat depending on the tide. The cabin overlooks a salt marsh which hosts a wide variety of migrating shorebirds, bald eagles, moose, brown and black bears, coyotes, otters and owls. "My cabin is my refuge, a place to regroup after my trips, and a place to feel the flow of the Alaskan season". Joe's intimate connection with the Alaskan wilderness is reflected in his photography. When Joe is not in Haines, he travels the world working as a naturalist and lecturer on small expedition vessels. This lifestyle offers him ample opportunity to venture forth with his camera to seek unique and exotic images. Joe travels light and has the ability to make people feel comfortable to allow him to capture the "soul of the moment."

"I want my photos to be more than technically correct. I want the viewer to feel something, to enter the essence of the subject, whether it be a landscape, portrait, action shot, or wildlife scene."
